Another stop on my Baltimore press trip was the sultry bistro, La Cuchara. It's a modern restaurant tucked away in the Woodberry neighborhood that is sure to light your taste buds on fire. The menu features Basque fare from regions of Spain and France, and wood-fired meats that will make your soul melt. Co-Owner, Jacob Lefenfeld, kindly hosted us for a four course meal with wine pairings from Chef Ben Lefenfeld. Our menu was as follows: 1) Gildas - White Spanish Anchovies, Queen Olive, Piquillo Pepper 2) Tortilla Espanol 3) Tres Anchoas - A tasting of three different anchovies 4) Charred Octopus
5) Turbot 6) Lamb shoulder with sweet potato puree
With the views of Parisian wicker chairs and a tremendous wood-fire oven, the interiors hit the spot simultaneously as I sipped on Bordeaux and sunk my teeth into the glazed lamb shoulder.
A warm and loving thank you to the team at La Cuchara for welcoming us into your home, and treating us like family. Can't wait to visit again!
