Furniture design comes in many forms. Sustainable design is a category that has grown severely popular in this industry, and it is what this brand stands for. Uhuru, which is Swahili for "freedom", was born twelve years ago and was begun by two friends collecting raw materials from the bay area in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Their studio resides there today.
It is one of my favorite furniture brands due to its eclectic and fresh aesthetic, as well as it's backbone for sustainable innovation. Their Tribeca showroom featured above is just as stunning in person as it is in my photos. They are open seven days a week located at 74 Franklin St. Check out their showroom and follow this inspiring team throughout their trailblazing journey! @uhurudesign | Uhuru Design
