When your explorative hunger pains kick in on your lazy Sunday, there is nothing left to do but to grab your camera and hit your streets of choice with a list of must-see shops in mind. On my Sunday stroll through Williamsburg, which is just a few short stops away from my neighborhood of Bushwick, I knew I wanted to stop by places I haven't been yet. Some I had in mind, and some I wandered into like the ever-so-chic Quiet Storms.
I got off at Bedford Ave and walked down to Metropolitan Ave, capturing west-coast inspired architecture, as well as the hotspot Williamsburg Cinema. As I strolled to Sprout NY, a mystical jungle shop, I caught a glimpse of diamond-in-the-rough storefront featuring jewelry-filled windows, called Quiet Storms.
I strolled in and instantly experienced a state of peace and luxury as I was greeted by the warm owner, Reschma. We instantly connected, and then she explained that after living in the neighborhood for over ten years, she felt compelled to open a curated shop that featured beautiful pieces and collaborations close to her heart.
The interiors of Quiet Storms exhibit refined texture through its wooden tables and velvet pillows on the couch. The soft gray walls offer a space for solitude as you shop, and paintings by Natasha Magariel named "Points of Intersection", that speak creativity and color through each paint stroke. All of the jewelry is displayed in a way that reminds you of your own vanity in the bedroom, mind the exquisite pieces by international designers. This shop is definitely a treat to experience, and I already have a list of pieces I want!
I ended the stroll with a refreshing Rosemary Spritz at Cafe Mogador in Williamsburg.
